APPLICATION NOTE #113 USING TURBO LIGHTNING AND XYWRITE III Rev. 01 Turbo Lightning is a memory-resident spelling checker and thesaurus program that is produced by Borland International, Inc. This application note gives you the information you need to run Turbo Lightning with XyWrite III. RUNNING XYKBD.COM In order to run Turbo Lightning with XyWrite III, you must first run the separate program XYKBD.COM. This program, which is on your XyWrite Word Processor Disk, allows XyWrite to share the keyboard interrupts with other RAM-resident programs. It does not limit your ability to remap or use special XyWrite keyboard files. 1. Copy XYKBD.COM into the root directory of your hard disk or onto your working diskette. 2. Call the AUTOEXEC.BAT file and add the following line to the beginning of the file: xykbd 3. If necessary, change to the directory that contains Turbo Lightning. Next, type in the program name. For example: cd \light light 4. Type in the names of other memory-resident programs you want to run in conjunction with Turbo Lightning and XyWrite. (Change directories as necessary and be sure you have enough memory!) 5. Change to the XyWrite directory. 6. Type: editor 7. Store the AUTOEXEC.BAT file. When you reboot the system, all the programs necessary to run Turbo Lightning with XyWrite III will be loaded.
